In an email to TT, H&M's press department writes: "We have noted that information is circulating about a potential cybersecurity incident and are currently investigating it. So far, we have received no indications of a breach in our data environment."
Earlier this afternoon, the British newspaper The Times reported that H&M had been attacked by the same hackers who attacked its British competitor Asos. The report initially caused H&M's shares to fall on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, but shortly after 2 p.m. the decline had eased.
Last week, reports said that fashion company Asos had been subjected to an attack in which hackers sent a push notification to the company's customers, announcing that they had carried out an attack and threatening to leak information.
