For the first time, Manchester United's women's team played a Champions League match at the classic Old Trafford. Thanks to two of the team's three Swedish players, it was a football night to celebrate.
With the score at 1–1, Anna Sandberg received the ball to the left of the opponents' penalty area. The 22-year-old left-back's cross was perfectly balanced, aiming for another blue-and-yellow player who had positioned himself between the PSG defenders in front of goal. Fridolina Rolfö met the ball with her forehead and resolutely headed in 2–1 in the 58th minute.
The header was the game-winner and ensured that United took their third victory in as many rounds in this year's Champions League. In a match where Julia Zigiotti Olme also started for United, and where all the goals qualified for the eye candy category.
Melvine Malard gave the home team the lead after half an hour after aggressively and high pressing to win the ball, and then sent it 1–0 into the far corner.
The highlight of the evening, however, was the visitors' Olga Carmona, who equalised 1-1 in added time in the first half. The Spanish national team star dunked a long-range shot into the far post – to no avail in the end.
