The Hisings Bridge in Gothenburg has become stuck in an open position and traffic has been stopped over the bridge, writes Gothenburg-Posten.
The fault occurred at around 18:30 in connection with a bridge section getting stuck while opening, according to the Swedish Transport Administration.
Unfortunately, the bridge has become stuck in a skewed position. The bridge should be half-open, so all road and sea traffic has been stopped, says Axel Wannerskog, at the City Environment Administration, to the newspaper.
Technicians are working on site. There is no prognosis for when the bridge can be opened for traffic.
The trams cannot cross the bridge, but the buses are taking alternative routes, says Ivan Farmerin, disruption coordinator at Västtrafik to GP.
