The week has had a lukewarm start in many places, but a new high-pressure system is expected to move in on Thursday - especially in the southern parts of the country.

On Thursday, we will reach midsummer temperatures of 25 degrees in some places. This will mainly be in parts of Götaland and Svealand, says Albin Thorsson, on-duty meteorologist at SMHI.

Temperatures will peak on Saturday, and in eastern Götaland it could reach up to 30 degrees.

There is also little rain, which means a continued risk of forest fires, mainly in most of Götaland and Svealand, says Albin Thorsson.

It's also related to a little wind and such, but overall it's dry in the fields, especially in the east. But there won't be any warnings for that.

However, it could become significantly cooler on Sunday. In several places, temperatures are expected to be around 20 degrees.

It is possible that the heat will linger in the eastern parts of the country, says Thorsson.
