In parts of eastern Götaland, eastern Svealand, and the southernmost part of southern Norrland, the forest fire risk is high, according to SMHI.

The public is alerted that forest fires can arise due to, for example, fires, sparks from machines, or lightning strikes. The dry spring has also made it easy for fires to spread in forests and terrain.

The advice is to check if a fire ban is in effect in the current area and to be very cautious when lighting fires or working with machines outdoors.

In a strip through northwestern Dalarna and up through western Norrland, the risk of grass fires is locally high.

After the snow has melted, dry last year's grass has been exposed, which is very flammable.

The same warning of caution applies as further south.

On Sunday afternoon and evening, a rain area will move northeast over the area, and then the fire risk will decrease.
