Three people are being charged with aggravated drug smuggling after police discovered cannabis hidden in a shipment of solar cells, P4 Gävleborg reports.

The case concerns 225 kilograms of cannabis seized at Arlanda Airport in July last year.

The cargo was addressed to a Gävle company that the perpetrators, according to the indictment, had hijacked.

According to radio reports, the three people, two men and a woman aged 25 to 30, are already known in gang circles.

In December, Swedish Customs issued a warning that criminals were hijacking the email addresses of reputable companies to exploit their import permits.
