Iran-backed Hezbollah will pay up to $14,000, equivalent to approximately SEK 140,000, to Lebanese families whose homes were destroyed during the conflict with the neighboring country.
At a press conference on Tuesday, a high-ranking representative of the Shia militia accused the Lebanese state of failing to fulfill its obligations towards those who were forced to leave their homes during the war.
It is unclear how many people will be compensated and what the total amount will be. The money for the initiative will likely come from Iran, which has financed Hezbollah for decades.
