Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem said in a televised speech on Sunday that the resistance movement could not be broken:
(Israel and Israeli soldiers) have failed in their goals of breaking down the resistance, ending its existence, consolidating the Israeli occupation, and creating settlements in Lebanon.
The comments came on the second anniversary of the killing of the former leader of the Islamist Hezbollah movement, Hassan Nasrallah, by Israel. Thousands of Hezbollah supporters gathered in Beirut's southern suburbs to honour Nasrallah's memory.
There is a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, but the movement rejects Israeli demands that Hezbollah disarm - and Israel repeatedly attacks Hezbollah strongholds.
