"Herman Liv has chosen to play with 80 as a tribute to his parents, who were both born in 1980," the club writes on X.

Herman Liv, 19, has HV71 as his parent club and when it became clear some time ago that he was returning from Örebro, a board decision opened the way for him to wear the number 1 jersey - just like his father, Stefan, did.

Stefan Liv was killed in a plane crash in Russia in 2011 along with his Lokomotiv Yaroslavl teammates. As a tribute, his jersey number was retired by HV71.

Herman Liv was loaned from Örebro to Almtuna last season and was part of Sweden's gold-winning World Junior Championship team.
