Herman Bergman's historic art foundry in Enskede is threatened with demolition.

For 75 years, the foundry has made bronze sculptures by artists such as Carl Milles and Carl Eldh at its premises in southern Stockholm.

The art foundry has a full order book and a dozen employees, but now the landlord wants to demolish the buildings, reports Sveriges Radio's Kulturnytt.

Over 5,000 people have signed a petition to preserve the old art foundry, including artist Klara Kristalova, who worked with the foundry:

"It would be such a huge loss if that special environment disappeared; time is in those rooms, and history, and it affects you when you are there and working," she tells Kulturnytt.

The foundry was founded in 1895, originally on Roslagsgatan in central Stockholm.
