Mjällby secured their sensational Swedish Championship gold away to Gothenburg in October. On Sunday it was finally time for the successful team to lift Lennart Johansson's trophy.

In the last round of the Swedish league, Mjällby took on Häcken at home. A match that Mjällby won 1–0 after a goal by Alexander Johansson.

It was in the 81st minute that Johansson struck from outside with a shot that went through a Häcken player into the goal.

Mjällby thus ends with 75 points, which is an Allsvenskan points record. They only lost once the entire season – 1–2 against AIK away.

Afterwards, Mjällby lifted the trophy as Swedish champions.

At the final whistle, large parts of the crowd stormed the pitch and celebrated with the players.

"It's indescribable. To be able to share it with everyone who is here and everyone who has been here over the years, the support for us in both ups and downs, it's so damn nice," Jesper Gustavsson tells HBO Max.

It's unreal. I still think it will take a year or two before you really understand this. I'm slow too so it doesn't help much, but this will be incredibly fun, says match hero Alexander Johansson about the Swedish Championship gold.

After the gold celebration at home, a trip to London awaits Mjällby.

We've been looking forward to it (the trip) for a while now, so it's going to be really fun, says Jesper Gustavsson.
