Sweden is gearing up for a packed concert summer. In July, Latin star Bad Bunny - who earlier this year performed at the Super Bowl halftime show in the US - will take over the Strawberry Arena in Solna for two nights. The same arena will also host The Weeknd, Foo Fighters and System of a Down, with support from Queens of the Stone Age and Acid Bath.
Earlier this year, Robyn made a comeback with the album “Sexistential”. For three nights in July, she will play at Avicii Arena in Stockholm. Ne-Yo & Akon’s “Nights like this tour” will also be there in May.
Pitbull makes a comeback
In addition, American artist Pitbull, whose last visit to Sweden occurred as recently as June last year, will make a stage comeback on June 23 at 3 Arena in Stockholm.
The 'old foxes' also continue to tour. ZZ Top played their last gig in Sweden in 2019 and are now back for two concerts in Dalhalla in Rättvik and at Malmö Arena. Rock icon Alice Cooper will also be coming to Dalhalla in June.
British heavy metal legends Iron Maiden are also returning to Sweden to celebrate their 50th anniversary at the Sweden Rock Festival, where they will play on June 4.
Several Swedish artists on tour
At the same time, it is possible to see several major Swedish artists this summer, including Felicia, The Ark, Markus Krunegård, Sarah Klang, and Magnus Uggla, who are all going on tour. Other major Swedish acts giving summer concerts are Roxette, Miriam Bryant, and Veronica Maggio.
Maggio will also play at Way Out West in Gothenburg in August, as will Zara Larsson and The Cure, among others.
As summer draws to a close, Swedish House Mafia will end the concert season with two gigs at Ullevi in Gothenburg, August 28–29.
