190 applications for personalized license plates have been rejected in 2025, reports Dagens Juridik .
“ONLYFAN”, “FUHRER” and “SKITARG” are other examples of signs that we will not see on the roads.
According to the Swedish Transport Agency, a personal vehicle plate may not be designed "in such a way that it can be considered to cause inconvenience or cause offence". This includes things that allude to, for example, alcohol, drugs, sex, swearing, religion, politics, diseases and crime.
Among those rejected this year are two signs alluding to Gaza. Sex and alcohol are also common themes among the applications that were denied.
A personal license plate costs 6,900 SEK and is valid for ten years.
