The virus may have spread, and the municipality says infection control measures have been taken.
"We have cases of hepatitis A, where there is a small risk that exposure occurred at a preschool. Infection control measures have been taken, which means that exposed people who lack immunity are offered vaccination," writes the region's infectious disease physician Annika Ersson in a text message to the newspaper.
The disease is a viral infection that causes inflammation of the liver, and common symptoms include fever and yellowish skin. According to the Swedish Medical Products Agency, young children rarely have symptoms of the disease and can therefore contribute to its spread.
