Henrik Larsson Sets Personal Best but Misses Direct Semifinal Spot

Personal best and on to the semifinal. But Henrik Larsson was frustrated after his heat on 200 meters. It's a hundredth from direct qualification, it's annoying, he says.

The hundredths have not been on Larsson's side during the World Championship. In the attempts at 100 meters on Saturday, Larsson was a hundredth from being among the top three who advanced to the semifinal.

When it was time for 200 meters today, history repeated itself. Larsson was again a hundredth from being third in his heat and taking a direct spot to the semifinal – despite setting a personal best on the distance with a time of 20.40.

In the end, Larsson advanced to Thursday's semifinal with one of the best times after those who directly qualified.

This shows that I am in top form, that I could have done it on 100 meters as well, he says.

It's sad but I tried to use it as fuel, and it led to a "personal best".
