Sweden will have to do without the Swedish championship gold medallist over 100 and 200 metres at the Finnkampen. Henrik Larsson is suffering from a foot injury that will now require surgery.
"It is of course very sad to miss the Finnkampen, which is always a highlight of the season, but I don't want to risk anything as my ankle and body have not wanted to cooperate," he says in a press release from the Swedish Athletics Federation.
Larsson is replaced by Filip Olsson in the 100 metres and Zion Eriksson steps in for the 200 metres.
This year's Finnkampen will be decided in Helsinki on August 29 and 30.
