The actor and comedian Henrik Dorsin receives Natur & Kultur's culture prize for "his role as a mirror of laughter in the nation's service". The prize amount is 500,000 kronor.
Dorsin is described in the motivation as "the fool who reveals the truth" and that he "reminds us of laughter's unique role as the safety valve of culture and society".
"I am surprised and grateful. And proud. Not least considering previous prize winners, where several of my role models, including Povel Ramel and Hans Alfredson, are included", says Henrik Dorsin in a press release.
Natur & Kultur's culture prize has been awarded since 1974, and is one of Sweden's largest culture prizes. The prize ceremony takes place in Stockholm on June 4.
