Degerfors recently chose to unexpectedly fire coach William Lundin.
Tobias Solberg has temporarily led the team, but the results have been lacking – with 0–3 at home against Brommapojkarna and 1–5 away against Djurgården.
Now the club is taking action and bringing in Henok Goitom to get the team in order.
What has caught our interest is his leadership and his football competence, says Degerfors sports manager Patrik Werner during the press conference.
Goitom himself has great faith in the future for Degerfors.
I'm very happy to be here. My first impression is that I get a warm feeling, the way forward appealed to me a lot, he says.
40-year-old Goitom was most recently assistant coach in AIK until last autumn, and has also had a period as head coach in the big club between Bartosz Grzelak and Henning Berg.
As a player, he was a big profile in AIK with 102 goals in 293 matches.
Degerfors is currently on a qualifying spot in Allsvenskan, and in the next round, AIK is waiting – at Strawberry Arena.
