The Superettan barely had time to get going at Olympia in Helsingborg before the home side burst into life.
Demba N'Diaye reached the top of a corner and headed in to make it 1–0 in the third minute.
But it didn't take long for the reply to arrive.
Oscar Uddenäs drove the ball forward and scored from long range to make it 1–1.
Helsingborg's Ervin Gigovic wasn't to be outdone and scored the next long-range effort of the match, making it 2–1 before the break.
At the end of the match, Clancy Biten and Alexander Johansson put the nails in the coffin to make it 4–1 for the Skåne team.
Before kick-off, a minute's silence was held in memory of coach Åge Hareide, who passed away in December last year. The Norwegian coached Helsingborg in two seasons (1998–1999 and 2012).
