Six people, including a tourist family from Spain with three children, died when a helicopter crashed into the Hudson River just a few meters from Manhattan on Thursday.
Mayor Eric Adams reports that the flight took off from a helipad in central New York at 3 pm and that the deceased have been found and retrieved from the water.
Images from the accident site show a large rescue operation with boats and divers.
Witnesses tell the New York Post that they saw a rotor blade break off when the helicopter was in the air.
