A man in his 20s was held captive for 12 hours and subjected to torture-like abuse in December. Now, five men are being sentenced to prison, reports Sydsvenskan.

The man was visited at his home in Eslöv and demanded to repay a supposed debt of 120,000 kronor. The perpetrators took his mobile phone, wrapped tape around his legs, arms, and head, and threatened to cut off his ear and a finger. According to the verdict, he was also subjected to attempted strangulation and abuse with a heated knife. He was finally released the next day.

The longest sentence, seven and a half years in prison, goes to a 22-year-old man. Three men are sentenced to six years in prison, and one man to six months in prison. They must also pay 109,000 kronor in damages to the man who was subjected to kidnapping and 40,000 kronor to his relatives, who were also threatened.
