"For me, IFK Göteborg is one of the biggest clubs in Scandinavia with the pressure and interest that exists around, which I noticed clearly during the period I lived in Göteborg" says Heintz to the club's website.

Heintz comes most recently from the Bulgarian club CSKA Sofia. He has also played for Norwegian Sarpsborg – and then under current Göteborg coach Stefan Billborn.

Hannes Stiller, sports manager at IFK Göteborg, says in a comment:

"As Tobias and CSKA Sofia jointly terminated the contract, it opened up for us to make this recruitment. In Tobias, we get a technical and dynamic winger with a good finish who can also be used centrally and who has a good goal production. We are very pleased with this recruitment, seen from all perspectives."
