The visiting Los Angeles team took an early lead and raced to a 3–0 lead on Adrian Kempe before the end of the first period.

Swede Emil Heineman did his part in the hunt for an equalizer and reduced the score to 3–1 and later to 3–2. However, there were no more goals in the match, and Los Angeles managed to hold on with some difficulty.

Adrian Kempe has been hot recently. Over the last seven games, he has scored a total of nine points: five goals and four assists.

Los Angeles has won every other game played in March, a pattern that continued through tonight's victory.
