Emil Heineman has found his goal form for New York Islanders. In tonight's meeting with Detroit, he scored two new goals.
The first came just under a quarter into the game when the Swede, completely unmarked, was able to score 2–0 for Islanders. The second came seven minutes into the third, but was almost identical when he went down on his knee and scored 6–1 behind Cam Talbot.
I'm just trying to play as well as I can, says Heineman according to nhl.com.
Not even a minute later, it rang again for a Swedish goal. This time for Simon Holmström, who scored his first goal of the season when he made it 7–1.
I think he was great. I love how he protects the puck and offensively, he skated very well, says Islanders coach Patrick Roy about Holmström.
However, Holmström was not the last Swede to score in the game. Jonathan Berggren improved the numbers somewhat for Detroit when he scored 2–7 behind David Rittich in Islanders' goal.
