Former national team star Hedvig Lindahl will be the new coach of Håbo FF's women's team, the division 3 club announced in a press release.

In 2024, Hedvig Lindahl ended her long and successful goalkeeping career.

Now the 42-year-old is taking on his first assignment as head coach.

"It feels honorable and exciting. Hopefully I can give the association a good opportunity to put the spotlight on the business, as the former national team player that I am," Lindahl says in a statement.

The chairman of Håbo FF, Enrico Seeling, is full of praise for the recruitment:

"It is a fantastic opportunity that we, as a division 3 club, have managed to sign one of Sweden's greatest women's football players of all time."

Hedvig Lindahl played 189 international matches for Sweden and won two Olympic silver medals and two World Cup bronze medals. In addition to playing in the Swedish Women's National League, she has represented clubs such as Chelsea, Wolfsburg and Atlético Madrid abroad.

Most recently, she came from a role as assistant coach at Västerås SK.
