The giant slalom team is facing a difficult task ahead. In Cortina, Sara Hector will try to defend her 2022 Olympic gold. There is a little more to work on in slalom, but as a unit the Swedes showed Olympic form in the dress rehearsal.

Hector faced the task of making up a lot of time to reach a top position after finishing 10th in the first run in Spindleruv Mlyn.

It went pretty well.

So too for the talented Cornelia Öhlund. But Öhlund, who recently secured her Olympic ticket, would have liked more. If it hadn't been for a few mistakes, Öhlund could have celebrated the winter's best performance so far in the World Cup.

Hector landed in ninth place. Öhlund shared seventh place with Katharina Truppe - a statement of form in itself ahead of the Olympics.

Anna Swenn Larsson finished sixth after the first run. In the second run, the veteran showed that she is still a force to be reckoned with.

The performance was not enough for the podium, but close enough. Swenn Larsson finished sixth overall. American Mikaela Shiffrin once again showed her superiority. She was 1.67 seconds ahead of second place Camille Rast.

Shiffrin has won seven of eight slalom competitions in the World Cup this winter and secured victory in the slalom cup.

German Emma Aicher, who grew up in Sundsvall, took third place.
