The San Antonio Spurs have suffered a major setback in the NBA playoffs. The team's and one of the league's biggest stars, Frenchman Victor Wembanyama, was forced off the court after just twelve minutes of play in the match against the Portland Trail Blazers.
He fell, landed headfirst and suffered a concussion.
San Antonio eventually lost the game, 103–108, and Portland has now tied the series at 1–1. The next meeting is Friday night local time in Sweden, but it is unclear whether Wembanyama can return then. The NBA has protocols for confirmed concussions, which mean a player cannot return to play sooner than 48 hours after the injury.
