On Tuesday, the temperature can reach 43 degrees. Not until Saturday are the temperatures expected to start falling again, according to the country's weather service EMY's forecast.
On Monday, up to 41 degrees are expected in the country's central parts, with 38 degrees in Athens and Thessaloniki.
Greece has already experienced two heatwaves this summer, which among other things has led to the famous tourist destination Acropolis in the capital Athens being closed during parts of the day.
