After three seasons on Netflix, the British series "Heartstopper" is taking the leap to the big screen. A film, based on the yet unpublished sixth book of the comic albums, will be filmed this summer, reports The Guardian.
The TV series has become a major success, just like the book series. It follows British schoolchildren Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) and is based on Alice Oseman's comic albums about a friendship that develops into romance.
In the film, the couple is forced to handle a long-distance relationship when Nick starts university. The series has been critically acclaimed and gained a large following within the LGBTQ community since its premiere in 2022.
