According to the Swedish Healthcare Association, 16 staff members have had to seek medical attention.

They have experienced asthmatic and allergic symptoms such as a runny nose, itchy eyes, severe headaches, itching of the scalp, eczema, fever, cough, hoarseness and nasal congestion, says safety officer Taru Kontio to GP.

The operations have now been moved to another part of the hospital while the old premises are to be demolished and cleaned up. Samples will also be taken.

We do not question the perceived problems, but we have not identified the cause yet, says Jonas Nordin, area manager for Västra Götaland's property organization.
