Almenberg has been State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance since 2022 and has previously worked at the Riksbank, the National Institute of Economic Research and also the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority.
"I am pleased that Johan Almenberg has accepted the assignment as Director General of the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority. I am convinced that Johan Almenberg will lead the operation forward in the best possible way," says Migration Minister Johan Forssell (M), according to a press release.
