"The Government has appointed Nils Svartz as acting Director-General and Head of the National Land Survey. The appointment applies from and including December 9, 2024, and at the latest until a new Director-General and Head takes up their appointment", it says in a press release.

Nils Svartz has previously been Deputy Director-General at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), and for a period also acting Director-General. Svartz has also worked within the police leadership in Stockholm.

Susanne Ås Sivborg was forced to leave her position after Expressen revealed that confidential information had been left open in the National Land Survey's archives and that customer service had handed out documents without secrecy review – despite Ås Sivborg being warned about it several times.
