The Government has now made the formal decision that Anna Kinberg Batra will leave her position as Governor of Stockholm. She will now become Director-General in the Government Offices.
"Exactly what tasks will be relevant, we will get back to. That the time will be filled and used efficiently as long as she is employed is a matter of course", says Minister for Civil Affairs Erik Slottner (KD) in a written comment.
At the same time, Claes Lindgren, currently Acting County Director at the County Administrative Board in Stockholm, has been appointed Acting Governor. According to Slottner, the Government is working swiftly to appoint a new permanent Governor.
"Now, the focus of the agency must be on calm and rebuilding trust both internally and among the general public. This will be an important task for the future leadership of the County Administrative Board", says Slottner.
Anna Kinberg Batra is forced to leave her position as Governor after harsh criticism from the Parliamentary Ombudsman.
