Häcken has a small gap up to the Damallsvenskan top team Rosengård. Now the club is taking action to try to catch up the nine points that separate the teams in the table.
On Monday, Häcken finalized the deal with Japanese national team player Hikaru Kitagawa. The left-back has signed a contract that extends until 2026, and the adventure to Sweden and Damallsvenskan will be her first outside of Japan.
I've heard that it's a club that always lies at the top of Damallsvenskan. I look forward to playing for the club, especially since the team will play in the Champions League, says the 27-year-old to the club's website.
Kitagawa will also be the club's first Japanese player.
I'm glad to be welcomed as the first Japanese player. I would like to communicate with the supporters and build a good relationship with them.
The left-back will thus come in as a replacement for Anna Sandberg, who left Häcken for Manchester United earlier this summer.
