After 2–2 at halftime, Erik Botheim stepped up, excelled and decided the game within eight minutes.
The striker made it 3-2 in the 60th minute, 4-2 in the 62nd, and in the 68th he completed his hat trick with a direct strike to make it 5-2. Botheim has scored seven Allsvenskan goals this season.
"It's been a year since I had surgery on my ankle injury - now I'm standing here with a hat trick. It's a big day for me," he told TV4.
The win is Malmö's first in the Allsvenskan since the away win against AIK on April 27. After the 1–0 win in Solna, four straight losses followed.
Earlier this week, coach Miguel Angel Ramirez was fired and replaced - for an unknown period of time - by the duo Guillermo Molins and Mario Chavez.
