Anna Brolin and Lasse Granqvist will both work for TV4 at the World Cup this summer.

But working in broadcasting can mean criticism from viewers and listeners.

"Sometimes it just rolls off me, sometimes it gets to me. It's just the way of the day," says Anna Brolin.

Of course it's more fun when someone calls and says, "Lasse, that's great, thumbs up," than when someone calls and says it's miserable, says Granqvist.

"Our experts will shine"

Program host Anna Brolin has covered several football championships.

In the meantime, she tries not to take the criticism to heart.

"We need to stay the course and stick to what we believe in. So maybe you shouldn't listen to too much, either positively or negatively," says Brolin.

She tries to hold on to her role as host:

"My job as a host is actually to make my experts as good as possible. To guide the viewers and steer them, but it's our experts who should shine."

But when there are seconds left before a live broadcast, expert and colleague Hasse Backe can cheer Brolin up with some comical words.

He usually says, "Brolin, don't screw this up." It's actually quite disarming, and there's something nice about it," Brolin says, laughing.

The letter that went wrong

Lasse Granqvist has worked in the industry for almost 40 years and believes that criticism is something you must be prepared to take.

But one handwritten letter from 1990 still stands out.

After an international match between Sweden and Wales, he received a scolding from a listener.

"Editor Granqvist should probably do something else, because this is the worst thing I've ever heard."

A month later, after Sweden beat Finland, he received a more positive letter from the same person.

The problem was that Granqvist did not comment on the match.

"The match was commentated by Robert Perlskog," Granqvist says, laughing.
