Harvey Weinstein has been rushed to hospital in New York, writes ABC News. The former film mogul has shown "alarming results from blood tests" that require hospital care, says his lawyer Imran Ansari in a statement.
Harvey Weinstein was taken to hospital at the end of April this year, but was discharged and appeared in court a few days later – however, he was taken there in a wheelchair.
Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and sexual assault by a court in New York in 2020. After his defense appealed the verdict to an appeals court, it was overturned and will be retried.
In October, several sources told ABC that the film producer has blood cancer and is being treated for the disease, but this has not been confirmed by his team.
