After a legal setback against the British tax authority, the actor must pay approximately 25 million kronor, reports BBC.
Grint, who played Ron Weasley in the extremely popular Harry Potter films, was originally ordered to pay the sum in 2019 after the tax authority found errors in his declaration.
The 36-year-old's lawyers believe that the 4.5 million pounds he withdrew from his company in 2011-2012 were correctly taxed as capital. The tax authority, on the other hand, has assessed that the money should have been income taxed, as it likely concerns "income and bonus" from the Harry Potter films.
The judge dismissed Grint's appeal and sided with the authority.
