The harbor strikes will continue at least over the weekend.

The parties – the Harbor Workers' Union and the Swedish Ports – met on Friday in the Labor Court (AD), whose verdict will be announced on Monday at 1 pm.

This means that the industrial actions will remain in place until Monday at 1 pm, so we'll see then how it turns out, says Erik Helgeson, vice chairman of the Harbor Workers' Union.

The union has demanded, among other things, strengthened protection for elected representatives and has announced a range of measures, which began with a strike on Wednesday.

However, the Swedish Ports have made a peace obligation appeal. The AD will thus examine whether the industrial actions are legal or not.

The Harbor Workers' members went on strike on Wednesday between 12 pm and 6 pm in approximately 15 Swedish ports.

On Thursday morning, the union's members began strikes at selected companies in Gothenburg, Gävle, Karlshamn, Stockholm/Nynäshamn, Sundsvall, and Umeå/Holmsund.

Strikes and other industrial actions (such as overtime blockades) have been announced for the ports in Halmstad, Helsingborg, Malmö, Kalix, Luleå, Piteå, Skellefteå, and Söderhamn.
