The 29-year-old Swede was fourth after halfway, then dropped one place, swimming in 25.13 seconds. The time was a personal best for Hansson as she was the fastest of all in Tuesday's attempt (25.17).
18-year-old Dane Martine Damborg took gold in the women's 50 butterfly. Her winning time of 24.61 also set a European junior record for the distance.
