Hans Vestberg Steps Down as Verizon CEO; Dan Schulman Takes Over

The American telecom giant Verizon is replacing its CEO Hans Vestberg with immediate effect, they announce in a press release.

Vestberg will be replaced by Dan Schulman who previously was CEO for Paypal. Hans Vestberg will remain within the company for a year to ensure a smooth transition.

"During the last eight years, I have had the privilege of working together with some of the most talented and dedicated people in the industry", writes Hans Vestberg in a press release from the company.

Hans Vestberg was previously CEO for Ericsson. He has also been vice chairman of the board for Hexagon.
