Abrahamsson has worked at SVT since 2024, and before that at TV4, among other places. At SVT, he has been behind programmes such as "The Game", "Married at First Sight" and "Hotel Romantik".
"For me, Melodifestivalen is the crown jewel of Swedish entertainment TV. Being able to be part of taking the programme forward to new successes is both honourable and challenging. But above all, very festive," he says in an information message to SVT employees.
Abrahamsson succeeds Anders Wistbacka, who earlier this year unexpectedly chose to leave SVT in connection with the public service company's latest savings package.
Hans Abrahamsson will take up the position at the turn of the year.
