It is a new step in the career of the 25-year-old from Gothenburg, who came second in "Idol" in 2017 and third in Melodifestivalen two years later as Liamoo.
"I've always found film and acting to be a lot of fun. So I definitely felt like it was something I wanted to try," says Hanna Ferm.
Preconceived notions
Even though she was brand new, she impressed fellow actress Matilda Källström, best known from the Viaplay series "Threesome" and the Netflix film "Love Is a Gift", during filming.
"You have preconceived ideas, I think, as an actor when you see musicians who want to come in," she says, adding:
But Hanna was probably the most prepared of all. So dedicated, knew her stuff, smashed all preconceptions with bravura and has done a fantastic job.
"Hunger", which premieres on SVT on October 2, is about two siblings who have to take over a restaurant when their father (Göran Ragnerstam) falls ill. There is a lot of drama in and around the kitchen, but also a lot of trouble in the relationships between the staff and the siblings.
"The Bear"
Anyone who has seen "The Bear" on Disney+ will recognise themselves, while SVT is launching the series as a soap opera.
Yes, it's as if "The Bear" and "Rederiet" were having a love child, says Matilda Källström and laughs.
For Hanna Ferm, the debut gave her something to look forward to. But what happens to her artistic career?
It continues. I've just been gigging all summer and now it's back into the studio.
And she hopes for more roles.
"I thought it would be great fun. But there's nothing planned right now," she says, raising her voice:
Hire me! Give me another chance, she says, laughing.
