The Swedish European Championship player has signed a contract until 2028.
I have always supported the men and watched them a lot. It feels big to get to represent such a big club. It has somehow always been a dream to get to play for one of the world's best teams, and it feels like Real Madrid is starting to become that at least, says Bennison.
The midfielder is thus leaving Juventus after a year in the club, where it became both league title and cup title last season. Before that, the 22-year-old has played in Everton and Rosengård.
Swedish teammate
I have had it very good in Juventus and am satisfied with the season that has been. But I have always wanted to play in Spain, it's fun football. When Real Madrid came up, I felt that it was a very good opportunity, and also to get to represent such a big and fine club, says Bennison.
In Real Madrid, she will be a teammate with the Swede Filippa Angeldahl.
It feels fun. Since we have played a bit in the same position, but there are several midfielders on the pitch. But it will be a challenge for me too to come to such a big club, so you just have to try to show what you're worth and make it into the starting eleven.
Focus on European Championship
Bennison was chosen in 2021 as the world's greatest talent on the women's side.
Right now, Bennison is in Switzerland with the Swedish national team ahead of the European Championship which is played 2–27 July. Sweden plays its premiere match against Denmark on Friday.
A bit difficult (with club change in the middle of European Championship planning, ed's note). My main focus has been on the European Championship all the time. Then it's also important which club you're in and that you thrive there, says Bennison.
