It was almost six years ago that Viktor Rhodin, then an elite league player in Önnered, suddenly collapsed in his apartment after an epileptic seizure.
Rhodin had suffered from an aggressive brain tumor at the age of 26.
He underwent surgery and made a notable comeback. During training he wore a helmet - in the match he was denied dispensation and played without one.
Ahead of the 2022/23 season, Rhodin took the next step in his career and signed for Aranäs, which would become his last club.
In the spring of 2024, the devastating news came: the cancer had returned and was no longer operable. In the summer, his condition deteriorated rapidly.
On January 6, Viktor Rhodin passed away.
He is the kindest person to ever walk a pair of shoes. An incredibly nice man who always cared about others and wanted everyone to have a good time. An incredibly kind and lovely person. I can't even imagine what it's like for his family to go through this, said national team player and former teammate Sebastian Karlsson to GP.
