This winter, the World Floorball Championships will be played in Finland. But Sweden will have to do without one of its stars as centre Hampus Ahrén has ended his international career.
It feels like there are other things you want to prioritise, and if you want to be there, it should be one hundred percent, Ahrén tells LT.
The 25-year-old instead wants to focus wholeheartedly on SSL games with Nykvarns IF and on his civilian career.
He already turned down the blue and yellow shirt last winter. At the time, national coach Thomas Brottman told Expressen that he still hoped Ahrén would go to the World Cup, but that hope is now gone.
Ahrén was part of the team that won World Cup gold in 2022, when he was also named the tournament's best centre, and World Cup silver in 2024.
