"Philip has chosen to resign after just under six months with us, which is of course sad. During his three-month notice period he will be given adjusted work assignments and will no longer be tied to the operations of the men's team," says Hammarby's sports director Mikael Hjelmberg on the club's website.
Both evening newspapers report that Berglund will be the new sporting director of Allsvenskan rival Malmö FF. He will replace Daniel Andersson, who has been the sporting director since the start of the year.
Berglund came to Hammarby from Brommapojkarna last winter.
