Hammarby has found its replacement for Edvin Kurtulus.
The Stockholm club has recruited Victor Eriksson from American Minnesota United.
"We are of course extremely pleased to have Victor on site at Årsta just a few days after Edvin left. In Victor, we primarily get a very good defender from our playing idea", says sports manager Mikael Hjelmberg on the club's website.
The contract is written for four and a half years.
"I am extremely proud to be here. Hammarby has Sweden's best fans and a very good squad", says Eriksson.
Edvin Kurtulus, who was an important cog in Hammarby's defense, left the club to play for Bulgarian Ludogorets.
Victor Eriksson has previously played for the Allsvenskan competitor IFK Värnamo, and was part of the club's journey from Division 1 to Allsvenskan, before leaving for Minnesota ahead of the season.
The center-back is reunited with "Bajen's" head coach Kim Hellberg, who previously coached Värnamo.
