Ahead of that match, there is a one-point difference between the Hisingslaget Häcken and the Stockholm team Hammarby, who have played one more match. If Häcken wins, they will win the Swedish Championship, the team's first since 2020 when they won the series as Kopparbergs/Göteborg. If Häcken draws or loses, the series will go into the final round on Sunday next week.
Hammarby's national team defender Smilla Holmberg will follow the match.
"You always have an eye on the women's Swedish championship, so that's clear," she tells Viaplay.
Hammarby, the Swedish champions in 2023, chased a quick goal right in the opening of the match in Västergötland on Friday night. It came in the eleventh minute through Japanese national team midfielder Asato Miyagawa.
Norwegians Julie Blakstad and Emilie Bragstad scored 2–0 and 3–0 for “Bajen”, in the 35th and 69th minutes respectively.
"It's really nice to be able to take the bus home with a win," says Holmberg.
Newcomer Alingsås remains at the top of the table with nine points. It has already been clear that the team will be relegated from the Swedish women's league after one season in the top division.
