The idea was that Mattias Andersson's production of "Hamlet – The death of theatre" would be performed for the last time next week. But now it is clear that Dramaten will stage it again next autumn – also with Gustav Lindh and Gizem Erdogan in the lead roles.

The last performance – for this time – will be played on December 3, on the Elverket stage, which the national stage will then leave.

"With the enormous public pressure, it was impossible to cancel the performance just because the electricity plant was closed," says Mattias Andersson, theatre director and artistic director of Dramaten, in a press release.

Gustav Lindh and Gizem Erdorgan return in their roles, but the rest of the ensemble has not been introduced. It will also be a partially new production as the performance will now be performed in a larger theater space than Elverket.

“Now it feels very inspiring to create a new version for the main stage of Dramaten together with the actors and the rest of the team,” says Mattias Andersson.
